About VERITAS

The Very Energetic Radiation Imaging Telescope Array System at the Fred Lawrence Whipple Observatory on Mount Hopkins. Four Cherenkov telescopes observe gamma rays from cataclysmic events. Whipple pioneered ground-based gamma-ray astronomy in 1968. Studies pulsars, blazars, and dark-matter targets.
