About Beijing Ancient Observatory
One of the oldest observatory sites in continuous use anywhere. Established by the Ming dynasty. Its terrace displays massive bronze instruments from the Qing era, several designed with Jesuit missionaries. Worked as a working observatory until 1929 and is now a museum.
