About FAST Telescope

The largest filled-aperture radio telescope in the world. Built in a natural karst depression in Guizhou. Nicknamed Tianyan, meaning Heavens Eye. Cost 180 million dollars. Discovered over 660 new pulsars in its first 5 years. Over 5 km of steel cable support the dish.
